1. What We Collect
Almost nothing.
DriftEye requires no account, collects no identifying information, and does not track usage. There is no backend server and no database.
2. Camera & Microphone Access
DriftEye requires the following device permissions, used solely for the app's core features. All image and audio data is processed locally and never sent to any external service:
- Camera (required): Displays the AR scene and captures photos.
- Microphone (for video): Records audio with video. Audio stays on your device only.
- Screen Recording (ReplayKit): Records the full screen including AR content. Requires system-level permission; activated only after you grant it. All data stays local.
- Photo Library (add only): Saves photos and videos to your library. The app cannot read your existing photos.
3. Face Data & TrueDepth API
When the user enables "Camera → Front (Face)" mode in Settings, DriftEye uses Apple ARKit's face tracking (ARFaceTrackingConfiguration), which relies on the device's TrueDepth camera.
-
What we access:
Only the 3D position and orientation of each detected face anchor (
ARFaceAnchor.transform). -
What we do NOT access or use:
Facial feature points (
blendShapes), face mesh geometry, face images, depth maps, or any other biometric data that ARKit may expose. DriftEye never reads or processes any of these. - Purpose: To place a paper object (plane, crane, or boat) in the 3D space in front of each detected face, as a visual AR effect only. No other purpose. Not used for authentication, analytics, or personalization.
- Storage & Retention: Face anchor data exists only in memory during active tracking. It is immediately discarded when the face leaves the frame, the mode is switched, or the app is closed. It is never written to disk, any database, or any server. Retention is zero.
- Third Parties: None. Face-related data never leaves the user's device. We do not share, sell, transmit, or disclose face data to any third party.
4. Third-Party Services
DriftEye integrates no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The settings screen fetches a list of DASTO apps from dasto.app (JSON only). This request contains no personal information.
5. Where Your Data Lives
Your photos and videos exist only in your device's photo library. DriftEye keeps no copies. Deleting the app leaves no residual data.
6. Children's Privacy
DriftEye is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app collects no personal data from anyone, this clause is a formal declaration.
7. Changes to This Policy
If significant changes are made, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We recommend checking periodically.
